The Battery Debacle

Working in the Service Department, the biggest complaint I hear from clients is the ongoing battle with battery life. It's no surprise that the battery in our Smartphones can't keep up with our day to day life. Let's be honest, we use our phones for virtually everything. But do not fret, there is a solution!

A little old company called Mophie has designed a battery pack that fits just like a standard case on your beloved smartphone. There's no need to worry about your phone lasting you throughout the day, especially for people like myself that are absolutely addicted to checking for e-mails and other notifications.

There are many other companies that have created a similar product, but I am only discussing Mophie because of personal experience. The model that I used was the Mophie Helium Juice Pack for the iPhone 5. With the flick of a switch at the back of the case, I saw my battery life improve from 6-8 hours to 12-14 hours.


The case itself isn't terribly difficult to operate either. It charges via micro USB, which is included in the box. The good news is, you can charge the case and phone at the same time, the bad news is it will not connect to desktop software such as iTunes or Kies. Once your battery is reaching critical level, flick the switch on the back of the case and your device will charge itself for a 2-3 hour period.



There are different models of the Juice Pack as well. Some less bulky, some with more battery power and some with a variety of colours if you don't like the standard black or grey. This product currently supports iPhone 4/4s/5/5c/5s, Samsung Galaxy S3/S4, and HTC One (sorry Blackberry users).
