SD Card Error for Android 4.4 KitKat

This was sent to me by a colleague. Please see below some issues that people have encountered when updating to Android's new version 4.4.

As Kit Kat rolls out for some devices there are a few important changes we need to be aware of.

There is a major change in the way a Kit Kat device handles content on the SD card that may impact our clients experience with the device.

The short of it is:

Kit Kat now inhibits Apps from accessing areas of the SD card other than its own folder providing a much higher level of security for the end user.

The downfall is it has caused some Apps to fail as they no longer have access to the SD card in the way they used to.

Areas affected can include (but not restricted to) Apps copied or moved to the SD card after install, Music and pictures files.

Here is a highly recommended read for you on the changes:

1)      It is recommended to back up the content on an SD card i.e. pictures music before the update.
2)      Set up a backup utility for the pictures( DropBox, Picasa, Google+ photos)
After the update reinstall any of the Apps that may have been affected
