What We Know About The Next Iphone(s)
That's right iPhones. Not iPhone. I have been researching, rumouring and b'sing the crap out of the internet to find out all the facts and fictions about the next generation of iPhone. Being an avid Apple fan (that's right I drank the Kool Aid), I could not be more exciting to see what Apple has to bring to the table to compete with the long await release of Samsung's Galaxy S IV.
Here's what we know so far:
Apple originally was looking to release to iPhone's in the same year. This would stray away from their usual release one iPhone per year strategy, which has been working well for them thus far. The build up leading to an iPhone release is massive and the launch day for one is mayhem. Apple is also abandoning the idea of iPhone fits all.
According to sources, which at this point could be complete BS, Apple plans on releasing the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6 within the same year. The 5s would feature an upgraded version of the iPhone 5 with the same comfortable features we all know and love, where the iPhone 6 would feature a massive 4.8inch HD screen. Bigger is better in the cell phone industry, we have seen this with the Samsung Galaxy Note and Note 2, so why not through in an Apple branded Phablet into the right.
At this point it's safe to say the iPhone 5s will probably happen, who knows if the iPhone 6 will. The earliest reports were that iPhone 5s would be released sometime in July with the release of iOS 7, where iPhone 6 might get pushed back to either November 2013 or June 2014 (booooo).
Apple needs to step up their game in the performance department if they even want to make a mark against the Galaxy S IV. Here's what we know so far when it comes to tech specs:
iPhone 5s
- NFC (Near Field Communication) in my opinion, it's about damn time. If this doesn't happen then iPhone will be lost to Android users.
- Finger print unlock, BAM! That's some Mission Impossible stuff right there.
- Intel Quad Core Processor, it's been reported that Intel has been working with Apple to integrate their processing technology into the next iPhone.
- Wireless charging.
Wireless charging.... how would this work? Well it's been rumoured that both the S IV and iPhone 5s will both feature wireless charging. The difference being, the S IV requires an attachment and a power mat in order to use this technology. Apple said shenanigans to that and wants to create a wireless charging system without the use of any additional accessories. Don't believe me?
In November of 2012, Apple filed a patent for a wireless charging technology that uses Near Field Magnetic Resources or NFMR to charge the device in a certain radius, without the use of a charging mat. This would not only be revolutionary but damn convenient for us mobile users who always need their phone charged.
iPhone 6
Same as above except again a rocking 4.8 inch HD screen. No word on if there will be a stylus like the Note, but I'm sure there will be some sort of accessory that you can buy off the Apple Store.
So there you have it. The latest on the iPhone 5s and 6,
